Human Health Vision Biotech BV (HHV Biotech) is a young biotech company focusing on research and development of new agents to combat chronic biofilm-related infections that are hard-to-treat with current antimicrobials. HHV was founded in 2021 and is located at the Leiden BioScience Park.

HHV consists of a strong team with entrepreneurs, scientists and corporate finance specialists, and is ambitious in its objectives. The culture is international and high paced. The atmosphere is open, and a strong focus lies on getting things done, while having fun!

Our first agent, an alternative to antibiotics is currently in preclinical development. As our research and development activities are rapidly expanding, we are looking for experienced scientists with expertise in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology and imaging techniques, to further strengthen our team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct research activities
  • Present progress and participate in research discussions
  • Ensure to maintain up to date on latest microbiology techniques
  • Co-supervise interns and contribute to the laboratory organization


  • Affinity with microbiology and drug innovation
  • Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with bacterial biofilms, transcriptomics, imaging techniques such as confocal microscopy and atomic force microscopy

Core competencies:

  • Team player with strong communicative skills
  • Master degree in (medical) biology or related disciplines
  • Trained in working in microbiological and immunological laboratories
  • Developed good experimental skills in molecular and analytical techniques
  • You possess a strong curiosity with an interest in developing novel agents for the
    treatment of human diseases like chronic infections
  • Enthusiastic person who is keen on gaining new knowledge, enjoys doing science
    and who is not afraid of a challenge and can be resilient and tolerate stress
  • You have good organizational and time management skills
  • Capability to structure your work and work independently as well as under
    supervision and within a research team
  • Confident in the use of software
  • Good English skills (spoken and written)
